Sometimes unexpected happens…
The life suprises us all the time. Sergio was coming back from a promenade in Rome after his performance Rai Radio3’s Fahrenheit show, when he saw this wonderful exhibition. He had just recorded “My Things”, a classic jazz song that he arranged in his personal way and thought that this spectacular manifestation of natures beauty, would perfectly go with his newly recorded music.
The video was shot by Maria Pansini, who was there with him watching what was happening in the sky.
I have always composed my songs starting from improvisation, I have the habit of recording and listening, then take things that I like and develop them. This is more or less my method of work.
More of Sergio’s thoughts HERE.
I didn’t know about this exciting experiment. I’m not even sure if this team is still active (the last entry on Facebook page was dropped on August 5, 2017 ), but the music is worthy of listening to.
The Guitar Republic is not the only group project Sergio Altamura is associated with. Telescope Motel (Serena Fortebraccio – Vocals and FX, Sergio Altamura – Guitar and Synths, Alberto Fiori – Live Electronics) is another one. Telescope Motel and the Guitar Republic represent two very different approaches to music and Sergio feels at home working both of them.
