Cesar Biojo (born in 1981, Cali/Colombia) holds degrees in Fine Arts and Art History from Florida State University and currently works on a Ph.D. in Art Research from the University of Barcelona. He lives and works in Barcelona – Spain.
Cesar creates oil portraits from pictorial resources and then “destroys them” with layers of smudges making sure that most of the evidence of coherent art is hidden behind the wall of dynamic outbursts of emotions.

The art by Cesar Biojo
Art of Cesar Biojo (IMHO) is complete cooperation of realistic perfection and dynamic presentation of human reactions to situations they’ve been exposed to. Take a look at the four examples above. I have no idea what the artist was trying to express when creating those paintings, I can just tell you what I see in them.
A – Do it again. I’ve really liked it.
B – I don’t want to be here.
C – What the hell do you want?!
D – I’m better than you. Much better.

Great looking mess
When you take a quick look at Cesar Biojo’s work, all you can see is messed up portrait. Something which started well and then somewhere in the middle author lost his focus and said to himself – screw it; I’m done with it. My approach is a little different. I see a portrait of the person, which is created first and then another picture painted on the top of the first one presenting a personality of the subject of that painting.

The last thought.
If I’m right and my take on Cesar’s work is even remotely close to reality, he paints really, really messed up people… 🙂
